ROAD FREIGHT SOLUTIONS

Road Freight
Estonia - Europe - USA

GreenLine Global runs road freight on two continents. In Europe we move cross-border loads out of our Tallinn hub in Estonia, into Germany, Poland, Benelux, France, Spain and beyond. In North America we cover domestic road freight across all 50 US states from our Seattle headquarters. Full trucks, part loads, refrigerated cargo, dangerous goods, oversized machinery – handled by the same team, with one point of contact throughout.

Heavy machinery is our specialization. Moving a CNC press across three EU countries, or a low-bed generator from Texas to Illinois, isn’t a standard booking – it needs the right trailer, the right permits, and someone who knows the route. That’s what we do on both sides of the Atlantic. When a shipment needs to cross between the two networks, our ocean freight and air freight teams pick up where the road ends.

Two Road Freight Services - Europe and the United States

Our road freight operation splits into two distinct services with different fleets, different regulations, and different paperwork. European road freight moves cross-border under CMR convention from our Estonia hub. US road freight moves domestically across all 50 states under FMCSA rules and the US bill of lading. Pick the one that matches your lane - or ask us about a combined transatlantic move.

How it works

Road Freight - Door to Door on Both Networks

Road freight involves more than loading a truck. In Europe that means CMR documentation, ADR compliance, customs formalities at non-Schengen borders and permits for oversized loads. In the United States it means FMCSA-compliant carriers, the US bill of lading, hazmat placarding and state-by-state oversize permits. The four steps below are the same on both networks.

01

Quote, route planning & vehicle selection

We assess your shipment - weight, dimensions, cargo type, ADR class if applicable - and select the right vehicle and service level. For oversized or heavy loads we carry out a route survey and arrange special permits before confirming the booking. You receive a full itemised quote with no hidden charges.

02

Pickup, loading & documentation

We collect from your warehouse, factory or site and load the cargo correctly - securing, lashing and crating where required. Our team prepares all CMR consignment notes in Europe or US bills of lading stateside, ADR or hazmat transport documents for dangerous goods, and any export or customs clearance documentation needed at the border of departure.

03

Transit & real-time tracking

In Europe your shipment moves across EU borders under CMR convention; in the US it runs interstate under FMCSA rules. Either way we keep you updated on your shipment and let you know of any developments along the route. For non-Schengen crossings and US port pickups alike, we manage the customs formalities involved in the move.

04

Delivery & proof of delivery

We deliver to the consignee's address, unloading dock or site and obtain a signed proof of delivery (POD). One point of contact, four steps, from collection to delivery - that is what door-to-door road freight looks like with GreenLine Global, in Europe and across the United States.

Available on both networks

Road Freight Services - The Right Load for Every Route

Not every shipment fills a full truck. GreenLine Global offers the same four road freight service types on both networks - in Europe and across all 50 US states - matched to your cargo volume, temperature requirements and special handling needs. As a specialized trucking services provider, we select the right equipment for every load: curtainsider, mega trailer or frigo in Europe, dry van, reefer, flatbed or step deck in the United States.

FTL - Full Truckload

Curtainsider - Dry van - Flatbed

Your cargo fills the entire vehicle - no sharing, no consolidation stops. FTL is the fastest road freight option for full loads. In Europe we run curtainsiders and mega trailers up to 120 m³ / 24,000 kg; in the US, 53 ft dry vans and flatbeds up to standard 45,000 lb payload.

LTL - Groupage

Part load - Pallet freight - Cost-effective

Less than truckload groupage consolidates your shipment with compatible cargo from other shippers. You pay only for the space you use - pallets, euro pallets or cubic metres. LTL is ideal for regular part-load consignments that do not justify a dedicated truck. We run groupage lanes on key Baltic and Central European corridors, and LTL freight on major US interstate lanes.

Temperature-Controlled Frigo

Chilled - Frozen - Pharma - Perishables

Temperature-controlled road freight using refrigerated frigo trailers is designed to maintain the cold chain from collection to delivery. We handle chilled (+2 to +8°C / +36 to +46°F), frozen (-18°C / 0°F and below) and pharmaceutical and medical-grade transport - frigo trailers in Europe, reefer units in the US. Pre-trip temperature checks and continuous monitoring are standard on every booking.

Oversized & Special Transport

Low-loader - Flatbed - Abnormal load - Escort

For cargo that exceeds standard trailer dimensions - industrial machinery, construction equipment, structural steel, energy sector components - we arrange low-loaders, extendable flatbeds and multi-axle configurations. We manage all special permits, route approvals and escort requirements - member state by member state in Europe, and state by state in the US. Heavy haul, step deck and multi-axle configurations available on both networks.

What we move

Cargo Types & Road Freight Specializations

Our road freight teams in Europe and the United States handle cargo that demands more than a standard booking - from heavy equipment requiring multi-axle low-loaders to medical shipments requiring validated cold chain and dangerous goods requiring compliant vehicles and certified drivers. We apply the right expertise, the right equipment and the right documentation to every shipment on both networks - from oversized cargo transport to ADR and hazmat consignments.

Heavy Machinery & Industrial Equipment

CNC machines, presses, generators, compressors, printing machinery and production line equipment. We coordinate proper securing, lashing and crating on flatbed or low-loader, and manage oversized permits for cross-border heavy equipment transport in Europe and state-by-state permits across the US.

Oversized & Project Cargo

Wind turbine components, structural steel, oil and gas equipment, cranes and construction modules that exceed standard vehicle dimensions. We carry out route surveys, obtain abnormal load and oversize permits and arrange escorts where required - across EU member states and across US state lines.

Medical Products & Medical Equipment

Pharmaceuticals, vaccines, diagnostic reagents, surgical instruments, hospital beds, imaging systems and laboratory analysers. We move temperature-controlled medical cargo under validated cold chain, and handle heavy or delicate equipment - MRI and CT scanners, sterilisers, dental and theatre units - with air-ride suspension, shock monitoring and lift-gate or crane delivery to the ward or lab door.

General & Box Cargo

Palletised goods, consumer products, electronics, textiles, automotive parts and retail merchandise. We pick the right equipment - curtainsider, mega trailer or 53 ft dry van - for your cargo, whether FTL or LTL.

Perishables & Temperature-Sensitive

Fresh produce, frozen food, dairy, meat, cut flowers, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. We manage the cold chain from collection to delivery using ATP-certified frigo trailers in Europe and reefer units in the US, with continuous temperature logging.

ADR Dangerous Goods

Chemicals, flammable liquids, gases and batteries - classified under the ADR Agreement in Europe and under DOT hazmat rules in the United States. Our drivers hold current certifications and our vehicles carry the required safety equipment, placards and documentation for every class we handle.

FAQS

Road Freight Questions

Yes, we run two separate road freight networks. The European network operates from our Tallinn hub and covers international cross-border trucking to Germany, Poland, Benelux, France, Spain, Scandinavia and the wider EU under CMR convention. The US network covers domestic road freight across all 50 states (dry van, reefer, flatbed and heavy haul) from our Seattle headquarters. Same team, one point of contact, and we bridge the two with ocean and air freight when a shipment crosses the Atlantic.

FTL means your cargo fills the entire truck – no sharing, no consolidation stops, fastest transit. LTL groupage combines your load with others so you pay only for the space you use – ideal for part loads. We handle both and advise the right option for your volume and route.

Yes. Our drivers and vehicles are fully ADR-certified for the carriage of dangerous goods by road across Europe. We handle all mandatory documentation: ADR transport documents, safety data sheets and placards. Send us your UN number and we’ll confirm feasibility and routing.

In Europe: Baltic routes (Estonia to Germany or Poland) typically take 1-3 days, mid-Europe 2-4 days, and longer hauls to Spain or France 4-6 days. In the USA: transit times vary by lane and are confirmed at the time of quotation. FTL is always faster than groupage or LTL – no consolidation stops. We provide confirmed transit estimates at the time of quotation.

Yes, it’s one of our core specializations. We arrange low-loaders, flatbed trailers and multi-axle configurations for out-of-gauge loads and manage all special permits, route surveys and escort requirements, member state by member state in Europe, state by state in the US. We’ve moved CNC machines, generators, cranes and construction equipment on both networks.
