Reliable Air Freight from USA to Global Destinations
Air freight from the USA with GreenLine Global connects every major US gateway – JFK, ORD, LAX, MIA, ATL, and SEA – to Europe, Canada, Asia, and beyond. We ship scheduled air cargo, express next-flight-out, air charter, and IATA DGR dangerous goods under one roof. Every US air export needs AES/EEI filing before departure and TSA screening before loading. Our team handles both, plus customs clearance at destination. Explore our full air freight services or compare with ocean freight from the USA.
We work airport-to-airport and door-to-door. Our trucks collect from any of the 50 US states, from New York and Chicago to Los Angeles and Miami. Founded in Seattle in 2008, GreenLine is a TSA-certified Indirect Air Carrier. Every quote is transparent and itemised – airline rate, surcharges, screening, and filing all listed upfront. For oversized loads, our machinery shipping and project cargo teams plan charter and freighter moves.
How it works
Your Air Export from the USA - From Quote to Delivery
Every air export from the USA follows the same managed sequence. GreenLine runs each step, from pickup and AES/EEI filing to TSA screening, flight booking, and destination delivery. One team owns the shipment from your dock to your buyer's door.
Quote, Route & Book
Send us your pickup ZIP, destination, dimensions, weight, and commodity. We compare direct and connecting flights across our airline network. You choose scheduled, express, or charter. We return an itemised quote within 24 hours.
Collect, Screen & Document
We collect from your facility and truck the cargo to the gateway airport. We issue the Air Waybill, commercial invoice, and packing list. We file EEI via AES at least 2 hours before departure. We also submit destination pre-loading data, such as EU ICS2.
Fly & Track in Real Time
Your cargo clears TSA screening and flies on the booked transatlantic or transpacific service. We track every flight segment live. Missed connections or offloads trigger an immediate alert and a rebooking plan.
Final step
Clear Destination Customs & Deliver Door to Door
On arrival, our overseas agents clear import customs with the local authority - EU customs, CBSA, Japan Customs, or the Korea Customs Service. We settle duties and VAT under your Incoterm. Then we deliver to your consignee's door. One partner, one invoice, from US pickup to final delivery.
Our air freight services from the USA
Air Cargo from USA - Every Speed, Every Cargo Type
No two air exports share the same deadline. GreenLine matches the service level to your cargo, your urgency, and your budget. You pay only for the speed you actually need.
Scheduled Air Freight
Standard · Cost-effective · 2-5 days
Your cargo moves on the next suitable airline service from a US gateway. We book space on freighter and passenger-belly flights. This is the most cost-effective air option for non-urgent exports. We manage handover at both airports.
Express / Next-Flight-Out
Urgent · 24-48 hours · Priority handling
We book the earliest available flight out of the nearest US gateway, regardless of standard schedules. Use it for production-critical parts and samples. We monitor the flight from departure to touchdown.
Air Charter
Full or part charter · Any route · Oversized
A dedicated aircraft for cargo that exceeds standard ULD limits or cannot wait. We arrange full and part charters from any US airport with suitable runway capacity. Ideal for heavy machinery, energy equipment, and urgent volume moves.
On-Board Courier
Hand carry · Accompanied · Same day
A courier travels with your shipment and keeps an unbroken chain of custody from the US to the recipient. Use it for critical documents, medical samples, and small precision components.
Dangerous Goods by Air
IATA DGR · Classes 1-9 · Shipper's Declaration
We prepare the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods and check packing groups and quantity limits. We know which carriers accept which DG classes on which US routes. Lithium batteries ship in small quantities only, subject to airline approval.
Temperature-Controlled Air Cargo
Pharma · Perishables · Active & passive
We book temperature-controlled ULDs and coordinate cold storage at the US gateway. We monitor temperature from pickup to delivery. Suits vaccines, biologics, fresh seafood, and cut flowers.
From US pickup to destination
US Gateway Airports, Export Clearance & Delivery
A US air export starts long before the cargo reaches the airport. GreenLine manages pickup, export filing, and screening at origin. Our overseas agents handle clearance and delivery at destination.
Primary US gateway airports
- JFK, New York - transatlantic hub, Europe and Middle East
- ORD, Chicago - Midwest manufacturing, freighter capacity
- LAX, Los Angeles - transpacific lanes to Japan, Korea, and Australia, with pre-flight staging at our Los Angeles / Long Beach warehouse
- MIA, Miami - perishables and Latin America
- ATL, Atlanta - Southeast exports to Europe
- SEA, Seattle - GreenLine HQ, Pacific Northwest and Asia
US export clearance
Our export desk files EEI via AES and confirms the correct Schedule B code. We screen every party against US restricted-party and sanctions lists. Where a commodity carries an ECCN, we check licence requirements before booking. As a TSA-certified IAC, we complete security screening before the cargo goes airside.
Origin pickup & destination delivery
We collect by FTL, LTL, or dedicated van from anywhere in the 50 US states through our road freight network. Cargo can stage at our US warehousing network before departure. At destination, our agents clear customs and deliver to your consignee. Heavy pieces get specialist handling at both ends.
Compliance & export rules
Requirements for Exporting Cargo from the USA by Air
Air exports face tighter deadlines than ocean. Filings close hours before departure, not days. GreenLine completes every requirement below before your cargo reaches the airline.
AES / EEI Filing
Electronic Export Information goes through AES for most exports over $2,500 per Schedule B line, or any licensed shipment. For air cargo, the deadline is 2 hours before scheduled departure. GreenLine files EEI on every air export we manage.
TSA Air Cargo Security
TSA requires 100% screening of cargo on passenger aircraft departing the USA. Shippers must pass vetting under the IAC security programme. As a TSA-certified Indirect Air Carrier, GreenLine vets shippers and tenders screened cargo to airlines.
Export Licensing & ECCN
Most goods ship as EAR99 or under a licence exception. Electronics, aerospace parts, and encryption items often carry an ECCN under the EAR. Defence articles fall under ITAR. GreenLine confirms classification and flags licence needs before booking.
Required Air Export Documents
Standard documents include the Air Waybill (MAWB/HAWB), commercial invoice, packing list, and shipper's letter of instruction. Some destinations also need a certificate of origin. Agricultural goods may need a USDA phytosanitary certificate.
Dangerous Goods Rules
DG air cargo must meet IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and US DOT rules under 49 CFR. Each airline adds its own variations. GreenLine checks UN numbers, packing, labelling, and carrier acceptance before tendering.
Restricted Party & Destination Screening
We screen every party against the BIS Entity List and the OFAC SDN list. We also check destination advance-data rules, such as EU ICS2 and Canada's ACI. Missing pre-loading data can stop cargo at the US gateway.
What we move
Cargo Types & Air Freight Specialisms from the USA
GreenLine flies standard and specialist cargo out of the USA, from boxed samples to aircraft engines. US export compliance and airline acceptance checks come built into every move.
General & Palletised Cargo
Consumer goods, auto parts, and manufactured items on pallets or loose cartons. We select the airline, ULD, and routing for your weight and destination. ISPM-15 rules apply to wooden pallets.
Aerospace & AOG Parts
Engines, avionics, and MRO components with airworthiness documentation and ECCN checks. AOG shipments get next-flight-out priority from the nearest US gateway.
Heavy Machinery Components
Spare parts, motors, and urgent replacement units too critical for ocean transit. We book freighter-only routes for heavy pieces. See our machinery shipping service.
Dangerous Goods (IATA DGR)
Chemicals, aerosols, adhesives, and flammable liquids. We prepare the Shipper's Declaration and confirm carrier acceptance per DG class. Lithium batteries ship in small quantities only.
Pharma & Perishables
Vaccines, biologics, seafood, and fresh produce in temperature-controlled ULDs. We coordinate cold storage at the US gateway and destination health certificates.
E-Commerce & Retail Wholesale
Launch stock and fast replenishment from US warehouses to overseas fulfilment centres. We handle carton labelling and destination import data before departure.
High-Value & Secure Cargo
Semiconductors, fine art, and luxury goods with chain-of-custody records. Cargo stays TSA-screened at origin, monitored in transit, and signed off at delivery.

FAQS
Air Freight Questions
Door-to-door air freight from the USA to Europe typically takes 2 to 5 business days, including destination customs clearance. Transatlantic flight time from JFK, ORD, or ATL is 7 to 9 hours. Shipments to Japan and South Korea typically take 3 to 6 business days, and Canada 1 to 3 business days. Express next-flight-out service can compress total transit to 24 to 48 hours where direct flights operate. GreenLine confirms a route-specific transit estimate with every quote.
Scheduled air freight books your cargo on the next suitable airline service from a US gateway. It is the most cost-effective option for most exports. Express or next-flight-out (NFO) puts your shipment on the earliest available flight, regardless of standard schedules. Air charter dedicates a full or part aircraft to your cargo and removes capacity and schedule limits. GreenLine recommends the right level based on your deadline, cargo size, and budget.
Most exports need Electronic Export Information (EEI) filed through the Automated Export System (AES). The rule applies when any Schedule B line exceeds $2,500 or the goods need an export licence. For air cargo, the filing deadline is 2 hours before the aircraft’s scheduled departure. Shipments to Canada are generally exempt unless the goods need a licence or fall under export controls. GreenLine files AES/EEI for every air export we manage, included in our standard service.
Yes. GreenLine collects your cargo anywhere in the 50 US states and trucks it to the departure airport. We file AES/EEI, complete TSA screening, book the flight, and coordinate destination clearance and delivery through our overseas agents. To get a quote, email sales@greenlineglobal.com with your pickup ZIP code, destination city, piece count, dimensions, weight, commodity, and ready date. We return an itemised quote within 24 hours.
Airlines charge per kilogram of chargeable weight – the higher of actual weight or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight equals length x width x height in cm, divided by 6,000. Standard surcharges include fuel (FSC), security screening, and terminal handling at both ends. Import duties and VAT at destination depend on your Incoterm – under DAP the buyer pays, under DDP the shipper pays. GreenLine itemises every charge and flags destination duty exposure before you book.
